Construction Part 1 - From Bare Land to Framing

Starting with bare land

Looking toward the front

Excavating for the foundation

Almost ready for the foundation

Terrie is already deciding where to put furniture

The future garage

Here she is... the BOSS

Any Boss needs materials

This Boss SO wanted to drive this!

The beginning of a floor

The beginning of a floor

The beginning of a wall

Rain, of course

Dry, and the walls are going up

John wonders... where does my TV chair go?

The front begins to look like a house

That will be a BIG cook top

How much did you say that will cost?

I don't care what the plan shows, the wall goes HERE!

No walls or roof... but plenty of friends

With friends, you must have food

One of two Steel I-Beam "Moment Members"

Really thick metal, bolted AND welded

All to hold up the GluLams for the loft

And then there is the BIG one for the window wall

Assembled and welded in place

And finally integrated in the wood framing

Above the walls, you must have a roof

Sure glad the worker's walkway is only temporary

There's that "toy" that Terrie wanted to drive

Backside, roof almost done, the Moment Member is now filled with window and doorway
